Girls X-Country Win Jekyll Invitational

MHSCrossCountryMarietta High School Girls Cross Country champions met up with teams from across the state last week at the Jekyll Island Invitational, bringing home top awards and winning the meet with 18 points. The reigning state champs, Marietta had the top three individual finishers, Ani Henderson, Ellie Hall, and June Mwaniki, with more MHS runners in the top seven.

Next up is this weekend’s Cobb County Championships at Allatoona Creek Park. If they snag a win, it will be the team’s third consecutive county championship.

Last season the Lady Blue Devils made school history under the leadership of Coach Jack Coleman and Assistant Coach Luke Godleski winning the Class AAAAAAA state championship, with 5 of its seven runners finishing in the top 20.
