Planting at Park Street

Park Street Elementary School has something special growing for their young learners in the school’s community garden. We caught up with Ms. Hoffman’s class as they learned how to tell if a watermelon is ripe by using their senses of smell, sight, and sound.

Ms. Wilson’s science class also visited the garden and learned the importance of watering the roots of the plants instead of just the leaves. Students learned that the roots are what soak up the nutrients and water to give to the rest of the plant.
